March 13, 2012

Commercials and music video helmer Anthony Mandler is in talks to make his feature film directing debut on “The Last Days of American Crime” reports Deadline.

From the mind of Rick Remender the futuristic comic book tale occurs as America responds to a second major terrorism attack by developing technology that eliminates the impulse to commit crimes of any kind.

The main character leads a heist team that plans to pull off a final job five days before the signal rubs out the criminal instinct.

Sam Worthington was on board to play the lead at one point back when director F. Gary Gray was poised to call action on the film adaptation.

Noomi Rapace has previously been attached, no word whather that’s still the case.

Karl Gajdusek penned the adapted script.

Mandler is also attached to the Charlie Hunnam-penned “Vlad” project.
