Trek 2: Another Brit; Starts Production This Week!

Actor/stuntman Joseph Gatt is the latest Brit to join the Untitled Star Trek Sequel says ScreenRant.

Gatt will play an unspecified role in the Star Trek sequel.

He joins Nazneen Contractor who will play the wife of Noel Clarke’s family man character Sherlock star Benedict Cumberbatch has landed the role as the still unknown bad guy while Alice Eve has been in talks for a major role as has former “Robocop” star Peter Weller.

Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg, Anton Yelchin and John Cho are all returning to the Final Frontier in their respective roles as Kirk Spock Uhura Dr. McCoy Chekov and Sulu

Roberto Orci, Alex Kurtzman and Damon Lindelof wrote the script for director J.J. Abrams.

Meantime Abrams confirmed to Collider that he starts a four month shoot on the ‘Trek’ sequel starting this Thursday January 12th and that they’re shooting on film in anamorphic so it will “match the look of the first one” He also talks about casting Cumberbatch and says the film will undergo a post production 3-D conversion.

The sequel will be produced by Abrams, Kurtzman, Orci, Lindelof, Bryan Burk, and David Ellison.

The film will open on May 17th 2013.
